Jennifer Ferrin on 3 lbs pilotSo Jennifer is now part of the new primetime drama 3 lbs on CBS!!!  The show is set to debut November 14 at 10:00 PM EST, but fortunately for us fans of Jennifer, they have put it online on InnerTube so we can see it now!  Sorry if you are outside the US since for some reason cbs.com only makes it available for viewing in the US.  Jennifer plays the role of Penny Marx, a medical sales rep.  It appears to be a recurring role, and I could see lots of opportunity for the character.  Penny appears to have some history with one of the doctors portrayed by Stanley Tucci.  It’s left me wondering if they are just professional acquaintances, friends, or perhaps more at one time.  With that connection, I think it gives plenty of opportunity to explore the character further.  And as always, Jennifer looked fabulous and did a terrific job.  I also enjoyed the show a lot!  I thought it was well written and has a strong cast.  My favorite of the leading characters so far is the doctor that Tucci plays,  He seems to be a deeply layered character and I want to learn more about him.  I liked the show because I thought it was well balanced.  The medical aspect seemed well done and thought provoking, but the doctors were shown to be human too and it appears that personal aspects of their characters will be develped too.  That is important to me so that I can care about the characters.  That helps me get invested in a show.  It is the type of show I would be checking out even if Jennifer wasn’t on it, so that is an added bonus for me.  The premiere left me interested in where it is going from here and anxious to see more!  I really hope this is a big hit!

Jennifer on Rescue Me

November 11th, 2006

Jennifer Ferrin on Rescue MeSorry I’m so late making comments about seeing Jennifer on the FX Network show Rescue Me.  Jennifer appeared in August on two episodes as “Sara” the hot girl at the bar.  The part wasn’t very large, but it was great to see her again so soon after leaving ATWT.  And it was great that she got on a very popular show so fast.  Plenty of actors leave daytime and struggle to get work so it was great that she started getting other work so quickly.  And while Rescue Me isn’t a show I normally watch, I know it is very popular.  And hey it’s another all important listing on the resume!  The part was small and she only spoke on the 2nd show.  Sara was certainly a different type of character from Jennifer Munson!  But hey it shows Jennifer Ferrin has a lot of range and can play all types of characters!  I enjoyed seeing her in a different type of role.  I don’t know that I would ever be a regular viewer of the series but I do have friends that absolutely love it.  So had it been a regular role I sure would have tried lol.  I guess the show is an acquired taste.  I sure would have been watching though had her part continued on!  I had missed her on my television and was just happy to have the chance to see her on another show!

While I hate to say goodbye to both Jennifer Munson and Jennifer Ferrin, thank you to everyone involved at As the World Turns for the amazing story of first the happiness of Jen’s marriage to Dusty and then the sadness of her death.  As a long time fan of ATWT I feel like this was ATWT at it’s finest.  Every aspect was perfect.  Huge kudos to all the cast and crew for making this such a special story.  Everyone was fantastic but especially Jennifer Ferrin and Grayson McCouch.  They made it so real and made me feel every emotion.  I cried my eyes out in sadness and in joy.  I am so happy that in the end it was really a love story for Jen and Dusty.  It could have all been destroyed but instead their love was honored and made so special and real.  There is no doubt they are each other’s soul mates and will always love each other.  There love will live forever.  I am so happy that in the end, Jen as she said had it all and was so happy.  The family scenes as Jen said goodbye were heartbreaking and heartwarming.  All the things that needed to be said got said. I hope some of her family members take her advice.  How special her last minutes were with Johnny as she sang to him one last time and how wonderful and heartbreaking the video was that she made for his birthdays.  Nothing will top the dance that she and Dusty “shared.”   What a beautiful scene for their last moment on earth together.  My heart broke and the tears flowed even harder as Dusty realized she was gone.  This couldn’t have been done any better.  Thank you to everyone involved for such a special story.

When Jennifer Ferrin commented on how excited she was about the exit story and how beautiful it was, I couldn’t imagine how the death of a beloved character could be so beautiful.  Once I got a chance to view it, I knew exactly what she meant.  The writing was outstanding, but Jennifer Ferrin’s performance was impeccable.  It just doesn’t get any better than this!  Could there be another Daytime Emmy nomination in her future?  She certainly deserves not only the nomination but also the award for the amazing work she did in this story!

Jennifer Ferrin played the role of Jennifer Munson on As the World Turns airing from July 9, 2003 to July 14, 2006.  I admit I wasn’t a big fan of the Jennifer Munson that had previously left town to pursue a modeling career, but Jennifer Ferrin quickly won me over.  Even if I didn’t always like what the character did, it was always a pleasure watching the portrayal.  I loved watching how the character grew and became one of the key residents of Oakdale.  She was the voice of reason and sanity in the crazy Ryan family.  The last 18 months of her tenure really impressed me.  We saw such a wide range of emotions and Jennifer Ferrin drew me in each and every time and made me feel them all.  I laughed and I cried right along with her.  I could always feel what the character was feeling.  I just kept hoping she would find some real happiness.  Jen Munson deserved that!   She went from being a character I didn’t care that much about to being a favorite on the show.  It’s not hard to understand why she received two nominations for the Daytime Emmy Awards for her work.  Both Jennifer’s will definitely be missed on As the World Turns.  So what did you think of her portrayal?  Please add your comments to share with other fans!
