Jennifer Ferrin as Jennifer Munson on ATWT
Jennifer Ferrin played the role of Jennifer Munson on As the World Turns airing from July 9, 2003 to July 14, 2006. I admit I wasn’t a big fan of the Jennifer Munson that had previously left town to pursue a modeling career, but Jennifer Ferrin quickly won me over. Even if I didn’t always like what the character did, it was always a pleasure watching the portrayal. I loved watching how the character grew and became one of the key residents of Oakdale. She was the voice of reason and sanity in the crazy Ryan family. The last 18 months of her tenure really impressed me. We saw such a wide range of emotions and Jennifer Ferrin drew me in each and every time and made me feel them all. I laughed and I cried right along with her. I could always feel what the character was feeling. I just kept hoping she would find some real happiness. Jen Munson deserved that! She went from being a character I didn’t care that much about to being a favorite on the show. It’s not hard to understand why she received two nominations for the Daytime Emmy Awards for her work. Both Jennifers will definitely be missed on As the World Turns.
So what did you think of her portrayal? Please add your comments to share with other fans!

Jennifer Munson by far was my favorite character on the show. You can only imagine the heartbreak I felt when I heard they were killing her off. When Jennifer Ferrin took over the role as Jennifer Munson, I was locked in. No matter what she did or said, I stood behind her 100%. From day one to her last day, she always gave her all. We got to see Jennifer go from schemer, to business woman, wife, drug addict, and a mother. I think I felt really close to her after she lost her son and her world fell apart. Through that s/l you were able to get a real life aspect out of it; going through the emotions and pain of losing a child and feeling like nothing is ever going to be right. Jennifer Ferrin did a marvlous job throughout it all. The world just doesn’t turn the same without her.

Jennifer Ferrin stepped into the role and took Jennifer Munson to another level. I saw her once and was hooked. She instantly gained my support and steadfast allegiance and kept it throughout her tenure on ATWT. Ms. Ferrin’s performances carried me along for the ride through each and every joy and heartache in Jennifer Munson’s life. I laughed with her, cried with her, loved with her and hurt with her. Ms. Ferrin played the role with great poise and dignity and turned Jennifer Munson into a loving and gentle but formidable woman. My Jennifer Munson was no shrinking violet, she stood up for herself and those she loved when it was necessary and rose out of the ashes when it seemed that all was lost. She was a woman I could root for because she was real, and flawed, but always tried to do what was right and best for herself and those around her. Thanks to Jennifer Ferrin for three wonderful years. I have no doubt this woman will go places, she’s far too talented to go unnoticed in this world and her profession. We’ll all be watching her star rise and will have the pleasure of saying we knew it was coming. Jennifer, you did we ATWT fans proud. I am grateful for the time and effort you put into the role and for your allowing us to be an active part of Jennifer Munson’s everyday life. You made my day brighter for at least an hour everyday for three years. Thank you and I wish you continued success. Best of Luck.

Jennifer was an amazing actress that made me love this character from the first day she stepped on screen. This past year couldn’t of been anywhere what it should have been without her. The death scenes were the most profound I’ve ever seen, partly because of JF’s ability to make it look so real. Justy wouldn’t have its supporters as much without JF playing Jennifer. I just am so appriciative of her coming in and taking the time to immerse us with her brilliance and hope she can come back some day. That’s right, you heard me correctly.

I read a short article in last weeks Soap Opera weekly quoting Jennifer Ferrin and her thoughts of returning to the show and/or any other soap. To paraphase her comment she said that she feels like she has done all she can in this medium (meaning soap operas)If she would come back she said it would be to ATWT because she feels it is the best soap out there. I highly doubt she will. Her talents cannot be contained to just a soap opera. She has theatre in her blood and singing is also her first love. A soap opera is limiting her to grow in all her other talents. I see her hitting the broadway or off broadway stages of New York. She has the “IT” factor to pull it off.
Yet, I miss her on ATWT. I welcome any thoughts on this or anything else to share about Jennifer Ferrin.

I think circumstances change. I think if she had storylines that involved more than being scared to death then she might see there is more to a soap for an actor. If TPTB used her talents as an actress and as a singer, she seems she would be up for a return. I think she is extemely talented and can do whatever she wants and be successful. If she chose to come back then it would be great as long as she wants to. I hate to think it would be for a paycheck (which I don’t think money is her first concern). Still, it isn’t easy for an actor. As you all know, there are people that didn’t find JF appealing. Those might not be many, but if those are critics on Broadway she will have trouble there. It is about who you know there, probably more than talent. Oh well, I’m rambling. I’ll shut up now.

I don’t think she will come back. She has no reason to come back. She has proven what a great talent she is and this was a stepping stone into her career. I see a very fruitful future for her. I mean she already has landed a gig shortly after her exit in daytime. She got her feet wet and it is time for her to explore more options. She took the character of Jennifer Munson to new and soaring heights. They gave her a beautiful exit. Now I will admit that it was a huge risk that they took, but I’m glad they did because that was some of her finest work and she went out with a bang. Personally I rather she go out the way she did instead of coming up with some contrieved plot that went against her character.

I miss seeing Jennifer Ferrin everyday on ATWT. I was looking forward to her small role on “Rescue Me”, but was very dissappointed. I found myself watching old clips of her on ATWT the next day. She is a sharp and beautiful actress, I guess I’m just feeling a little sadness without her on ATWT.
It was a great three year run for her and I hope we will be seeing more of her talent.
